I have been using a guide someone made here with dvd decrypter and autogk for encoding. But recently came across a problem where dvd decrypter would not rip the episodes from the dvd.I don't know how to use any other program to rip the episodes so that I can go back to how I use to and encode with autogk, any help? Thanks in advance.

I also would like to convert a video from youtube, what porgram shoud I use?

I want to encode a video that is animated and is about 35 minutes long, what size should I aim for to keep all original quality and size? (I generated the video from my dvd so the quality is the best)

Perhaps if oyu tell us which guide your are following, someone can tell you how to adapt it to use DVDFab Decrypter.

FWIW, DVDFab Decrypter rip sin IFO mode by default.

You have two choices.

You can buy AnyDVD, turn off all the CSS/PUO features in DVD Decrypter preferences, then follow the guide as it is written. AnyDVD will remove all the protection instead of DVD Decrypter or DVDFab HD Decrypter.

Or

You can use DVDFab HD Decrypter (free) to rip each episode manually. You do this by using Main Movie mode and selecting the episode that you want, then writing this to it's own folder.

After that you can use AutoGK on each folder, as per the guide.

I guess I'll try the free version first.Tell me if these are the right steps:

Settings>Customize UI>Click main movie then the left arrow to move it to the available options>Click ok>Start?

If that is right,I've done that before but can't figure which episode is which. As in dvd decrypter I would be able to select them in order and see the time on them then I'd know which episode is which.

I am still using 4 because most of the protection schemes haven't reached our shores yet, but I don't think it is that different to version 5. Start up DVDFab HD Decrypter and let it read your disc. Click on Main Movie under DVD to DVD (left hand side) and the interface will change to show you all the title on the disc. Episodic DVDs are generally authored in order, but there is a preview window to show you the title you have selected.

No reason that I can see that you would have to go into Settings at all.

I'm using 4 too and I don't have them options. to the left side under dvd it says: full disc, split, customize, clone, merge, and write data.If I try to choose between any other than full disc it tells me only available in platinum.

I can try and get a different version if it's needed?

Under Full Disc you should have Main Movie as an option. If not, upgrade.

I'd try the VTS_01_0.IFO, if I were you. It's not as if you'll break anything by trying them both, though.

As there is only one title in the set, AutoGK will work it out.

I got them files almost all the way done from that series,Thanks guns.

Now,I've moved to another series I want to work on to put on my external. It's a cartoon series so I don''t know if I need to do anything different now,But I want to keep all the audio tracks and if possible subs too,and I have the original dvds so the quality is 10/10 I want to keep the quality the same once I put it on the external in avi.(xvid)

Another thing,When I load it in Dvdfab it has all the episodes in one long I guess it's called a "pgc"? Can someone show me how to seperate each episode? and also help me with keeping subs, all audio tracks, best quality. Thanks.

Select Main Movie and choose the title you want to split. Click on Title Start/End Settings and you can select just a single episode from within the title. Write the results to a file, then repeat for the other episodes. When you are done, batch them up in AutoGK and go have dinner.

Do it in one of 2 ways. The first would be to encode the whole thing at once and split it afterwards. The other would be to decrypt originally using DVD Decrypter set for IFO Mode. Select the chapters making up each episode and deselect the rest, and decrypt each episode to its own folder. If, for example, there are 4 episodes and 20 or 21 chapters, then each episode contains 5 chapters.

I'm not sure you understood what guns1inger said, though. He was describing a way to have DVDFab HD Decrypter split the big PGC into the episodes for decrypting. I haven't used DVDFab like that before, so I can't help. It's not hard to figure out what chapters make up an episode. Using the On Screen Display of PowerDVD, for example, will show you the chapters. Play both the beginning and end of each episode to find the included chapters.
