AutoGK worked perfectly for me for a year or so... Then all of a sudden, it started giving me crashes during ANY conversion. Through experimenting, I found that if I went into the VDubMod folder under AutoGK, and manually ran VirtualDubMod.exe, I would get an "An exception occurred in module 'kernel32'." crash.
No interface at all; just an immediate crash as soon as I run VirtualDubMod.exe. I've already tried re-installing, making sure I have the latest version, etc... I even tried older versions of VDM to no avail.
Anyone have any suggestions? I can provide more details if anyone thinks they'll help.
Many thanks.

Maybe one of the plugins is causing problems? Try renaming the plugins folder and see if the program will start. If it works, restore the plugins folder name then start searching for the bad one.

Nice suggestion; didn't help. I renamed "plugins" to "qplugins" and I still got the crash error as soon as I started the program. Anyone have any other ideas? It galls me that until very recently, it worked fine. And no, I can't pinpoint any change to my system that might have caused the problem.

Hi There,
I have the same issue on my notebook, Virtualdubmod simply doesn't start, it gives an exception with the code 0xe06d7363. Looks like XP SP3 and Virtualdubmod do not like each other....
I have tried so many workarounds, but they did not help.
Any suggestion?
Thanks:
Nandi

jagabo,
in this case, could you please let me know what .net version do you have, and any other useful info.
Looks like I'm not the only one who has issues with VDM on SP3...
Thanks!

I have .Net 2.0 installed. But VirtualDubMod doesn't use .net framework so you don't need any version.
Try deleting any VirtualDubMod entries in the Registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Freeware\VirtualDubMod). Try running AuxSetup.exe (part of the VDM package). Also try installing AviSynth.

I have uninstalled all gordian knot related sw's, then reinstalled the codec pack and the rip pack, and it is working fine.
Interesting...
