Does divx author reencode Divx and xvid files?

trying to make a divx ultra dvd from dvd videos and am wondering if I should compress them in virtualdubmod or if divxauthor reencodes them so I shouldn't compress them?

No-one seems to be able to confirm one way or the other, however the time it takes Divx Author to process the videos certainly seems to imply it does re-encode.

Yes it does, but the new TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 with DivX Authoring does not.

You should be able to use a fourcc changer to "fake" divx if it does reencode. I can't confirm if it does or not since i only have tda2.0 but this should be a way to ensure it doesn't reencode.
