When I choose to burn a dvd in Encore, Encore starts with importing Sequence 1 (I only have one).
'Data written' and 'Time remaining' are both zero.

Everytime the processing reaches the end of the bar, it just goes a little bit back and then it goes to the end again.
It's kinda hard to explain, so I've added a picture:

Does anyone know how I can slove this problem? Because it stops me from burning a dvd!

(BTW, there where no errors before burning the dvd!)

We have an "Authoring DVD" forum and you're not a newbie. Why on earth did you post this here? This has nothing to do with VCD/SVCD.

Moving you.

Looks like it can't convert the avi video source.

Does it happen with all video sources?

Yes, is does. Is there anything that can solve the problem?
I've tried several video's, but what they have in common is that they are all converted. I did that, because otherwise Encore wouldn't load them because of the videoframe(?) size, and the frame rate.

I always do the transcoding outside Encore with Premier or another software like TMPGEnc.

In Premier, chose "Export to Encore".

I'll try that, but I do need to encode the file first because it's an MKV.

I've imported an AVI file, but I can't export it to Encore. When I try to render the 25 minute long video, Encore needs 3(!) hours to render the file!

When I import the AVI in Encore, Encore needs to transcode the videofile. When it's almost finished, Encore starts to do the same thing as when I try to burn a dvd!

With the AVI in premier, chose File>Export>Adobe Media Encoder and using the following settings:

Format: MPEG2-DVD
Range: Entire Sequence
Preset: PAL/NTSC normal screen or widescreen, up to you, but chose "High Quality"

Click O.K to export the mpeg2 file. Remember where you save it, then import this video into Encore.

I can''t choose MPEG2-DVD, only Adobe Flash Video, Quicktime, RealMedia and Windows Media. All of them have major quality loss :S

Strangely enough, I can export to Encore right now. Problem is that Premiere CS3 shuts down because it can't handle the request to export to Encore. Could it be because I have Encore CS2?

Premier does have a builtin MPEG2 encoder (Mainconcept). If the option is not available for you, then something is seriously wrong with your copy.
I'd suggest a reinstallation.

Thanks, I did a reinstallation and now it works biggrin.gif I'm burning the dvd right now...

Edit:
I've burned the dvd, but a lot of scenes are choppy. One episode doesn't even play!
What's with that?
