Hi! I have a ton of old betamax format home movies which I want to convert to digital format. I bought the JVC GR-d93 for this purpose aside from the need of having a video camera for recording family events.

In any case the digital pass through function worked fine while capturing the video using firewire. However I noticed that the captured video from the betamax somehow flickers at a constant rate (every 5-10 seconds or so). It can be seen on the screen of the videocam. The flicker is at its worst after firewire capture in avi format in which the people or video "doubles" during this flicking moments. The movie shakes in these moments causing the figures to have multiple figures in a split second.

what seems to be the problem? Can this be solved? I have not tried VHS or other analog source at this point aside from betamax. thanks
