Installing H.264 Codec Encoder

Hi! I was trying to download h.264 codec x264 so I can compress with it using VirtualdubMod but when I install it, a cmd screen appears and it closes.

Is there any wy to install it? thx

The x264 encoder is a standalone command line encoder. You can use it together with tools like staxrip, megui, xvid4psp(my favorite).

If you want to use virtualdubmod you need a vfw x264 version, like http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=213809 .

vdub & vdubmod don't use the x264 CLI version , they use the VFW version
