web cam recorded video problem!

Hi,
I recorded something like 3 hours with my web-cam on the notebook, then I stopped it. The avi file oppened but showing only the last 1 minute! the file size is 5 GB, that is the whole data is there! Can anybody tell me, with which software can I test whether the data is there, or solve completely this problem? I would appreciate it!

p.s. for compressing, I used MPEG-4.

Try open it with virtualdub or/and avidemux and see if it can read it. Then you can try save it as a new avi(in virtualdub choose video->direct stream copy).
