I am using dr. divx ver. 2.0.0 OSS and codec 6.4 to back up some discs. If I capture files to mpeg 1/2 it encodes the sound in mp3 format and everything plays back fine. I recently tried to encode them straight from the disc from vob format and it doesn't give me the mp3 option. Just ac3 and it encodes it in ac3 but when I play it back there is no sound. I've tried zoom player, divx player, and windows media player and it's all the same result. Why don't I have an mp3 option with vob's? I hear guys complaining that they can't get ac3 to pass through and I can't choose anything else with vob's. I have a media mate external hard drive enclosure that also outputs video to tv and it plays the audio on the output but it is choppy and out of sync. I use power dvd to play dvd's on my computer and it handles ac3 fine. How can I get it to output mp3 sound instead of ac3? I tried to upgrade to the latest versions but couldn't get them to work right so I went back to the old versions.
