Hi there, I noticed that someone else posted a similar topic early but I promise I have a new query.
I have had my Panasonic NV-GS230 for a few months but only just decided to edit some of my footage; having already installed the USB Driver and software (MotionDV Studio Le for DV) which came with the camcorder I did not perceive a problem. However, the software greets me with the error 'No video device is connected with the personal computer' when of course it is connected and my computer can actually see the camcorder in its list of devices. Furthermore, i can take still photos through a SD card in the camcorder and my computer has no trouble importing these.
In despair I have tried all of the computers in my house to no avail and have tried Windows Movie Maker where I am told 'a video capture device is not detected'.
I understand that firewire is generally more effective but as I do not have one of these or a port I wanted to be sure this was going to work before I invested yet I can't understand why the USB will not work when that is what is supplied with the device.
By the way, I have USB2.0 Enhanced also.
Hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on this issue for me because with my deadline approaching I am begining to panic!
Thanks for your time, any suggestions would be appreciated.
