i have alot of anime i wanna backup and was wondering when i reauthor with dvd shrink i found that just doing the main movie and removing audi and subs not needed lets me fit it on a DVD-5 with no compression but i loose menu so my question is does it really matter if you leave the menu or not ??? besides having easy track selections

At our Gold Class cinemas there is. I can order pizza and beer to arrive during the movie. But I don't think that is what you meant . . . . smile.gif

Why not keep the menus in shrink for track selection ?
I'm sure the menu's take up less space than any of the extra audio tracks you removed cool.gif

(and i have to go get my own pizza and whiskey realmad.gif )

You still have chapter/track selection taking "movie only"....you just need to use the correct button on your remote.
It's not really selecting a chapter....it's more like "next" chapter.

Greets,

Give DVD-RB a try and use the HCenc encoder engine with it. You can keep the working menu's, de-select audio and subtitle tracks you do not want. The free version should have most of the functions you need. The Pro one is well worth the money spent.

I can go either way with menu's. If it is a movie-only rip I will go without them. If ripping out half the episodes of a dual layer disc to put onto a single layer disc I might create my own menu with TDA. DVDShrink is a nice program but I use it more for reauthoring than for compressing content.

Cheers,
Rick
