I am wanting to isolate the music from a DVD movie. Is there away this can be done? without voices and effects?

Probably but it would not be 100% perfect. Any filtering agent you could use would reduce overall quality.

Perhaps you might get lucky and isolate it in seperate wav files but you will still get partial dialoge and action effects in it.

You're best bet is to break down and by the movie soundtrack.

An alternative would be some movies do offer music only soundtracks. Not many but some do (superman 1 and matrix 1 come to mind). Then you could rip that audio track and cut out the clips you want. But that is not a universal feature.

Usually not. Rarely are the music tracks completely separate from the dialogue.

The process would be: 1) Demux AC3 audio from VOB files. 2) Split 5.1 audio into separate mono WAV tracks

The soundtrack to this movie dosen't include all the songs that I want. Therefore I am looking for a way to isolate it and burn it to a disc.

Have you tried amazon or itunes or zune or yahoo music? You can get the songs legally for a 1.00 a song. They have a large selection at 192 wma in the drm form or many are now available as real mp3's for slightly more.

Then you would get crisp undistorted sound that would be much better than any spliced music you would get doing it this way. Just a suggestion. smile.gif

I have no clue on how to do that. But it sounds like a long dull and frustrating process?

99.9% not going to happen......

Best thing to do is find out from the credits what all the songs are by the bands/groups/singers and seach for the ones you want.

Like I said the soundtrack from the movie I want doesn't have the songs on it, thus I would like to isolate the songs I want.
