What are your best freeware suggestions for burning MP3 to STANDARD audio CD?
ie: so it will play in a non-mp3 CD player.

thanks!

Exact Audio Copy is at the top of my list. Can be a little tough to setup at first for full functionality, but it is a great piece of software. It does much more than just convert formats is why I like it so much.

To decompress MP3's to WAV like you want, you'd go to Tools > Decompress... > Select your files > Choose Destination > Click Save

Another freeware alternative that will easily accept mp3's, convert and burn to regular audio CD's is Burnatonce.

I'm sure there are many other capable software packages out there in addition to these two.

I really like itunes for this. When you install it, it goes out and finds all of the music files on your computer and adds them to your library. You can then drag any of the songs into a playlist and burn a cd.

thanks for the suggestions - I think I'll give exact audio copy a try.
I also like that the program size is small.

Imgburn now does audio CDs. It will convert MP3 (and other formats) on the fly. Great stuff!

Oh yeah?
Can Imgburn normalize or write with multiple drives at the same time?

I use Burrrn for quickness, and it does normalize on the fly as well.

Just for converting, but not burning, I use dbPoweramp

(free for decoding mp3, but encoding to mp3 requires a small license fee)
