I am going to get the stuff to make an external blu-ray burner with the LG internal drive and the SATA dvd-rom enclosure. Can an older macbook pro burn blu-ray discs. I only want to burn blu-ray, I do not want to watch them on my computer. can this be done?

I'm pretty sure that Toast 9 Titanium will allow you to burn Blu-ray discs.

From Roxio's site:
Quote:
Import and create high-def video from TiVo, EyeTV, AVCHD camcorders and burn to Blu-ray and standard DVD discs!* Watch your movies and TV shows over WiFi on your iPhone or any net connected Mac or PC, and more!

Just noticed the fine print:
Quote:
HD DVD and Blu-ray (BDMV) video authoring functionality requires purchase of the HD/BD plug-in.

so the type of computer doesnt really matter if you have the burner and software that are all compatible with each other?
