Video Setting For Motorola A1200 "Ming" and Rokr E6 Entertainment

Searching all around the net and using different settings, heres what I have found.

With the Linux based Real Player that's the default media player that comes with the phone -

15fps MAX, rumors of going higher are thus far false unless I missed something.

320x240 is MAX resolution for video playback.

You can of course move the bit rates around in the audio and video to make the file smaller.

Reducing fps from 15 to 12 to 10 reduces file size even further.

I used Super Video Converter with these settings -

MPEG-4
320X240@4:3
Frames Per Second: 15
Video Bit Rate:336* (350 is max but not available with Super's pull down menu options)
ACC Mono Audio:16Hz@32kps (could use stereo as well, larger file trade-off, maybe an issue with Stereo Bluetooh headsets)

Works without issue, picture quality is great. I reduced the original file from 324MB 24:45 min race down to 68MB.

Trying to iron out the last kink which is super smooth playback and this is a auto race so camera panning is quick, no bluring of the picture but it causes a tiny studder in playback.

Movies or other slower moving content should be fine. Increasing frame rate would be ideal bu I can't get the files to work at 20, 29.97 or 30 frames per second, it just says "Exceeded Limits" and won't play.

Anyway I can smooth out playback even further? I know some other players support higher frame rates, but I though so did the Real Player if you we're using MPEG-4 (30fps reported max) vs Real Media which is 15fps max.

If I am missing something let me know...

reduce your video bitrate to 288-240, any time you have stutter on pan, but not on straight on camera scenes, you have exceeded total data rate per frame, too many pixels have changed,

reducing the video rate for high action/camera pans increases the smoothness,

you camera is either 29.97/30 so doNOT use 20 fps, or 12 fps, this will introduce stutter, use 15 fps or 10 fps, ( 15 is best )

use the mpeg-4 codec NOT h264 ( which is cpu intensive for decoding ) what container / extension did you use

try mp4 NOT avi or dvix

try these and see how they play

I haven't tried lately but I might shrink down some ST The Animated Series that's already Divx with my current settings and should be fine.

When I download the next DTM race or WTCC race or GT3/GT4 race I'll try your bit-rate settings.
