Hey, how can you do things with directX?.. u code/compile?.. or do u script/execute.. through what console?

..clueless here!

I want to build a program like ImageGrabber II , which is really a great program.. but for some reason it stopped working for me.. so i thought i'd just build my own.

I've succeeded grabbing frames with FFMPEG, but its way to slow... i want the user to be able to take instant snap shot of the viewed video (just like Image Grabber II )
