Hello

I downloaded a couple of movies in mkv format and I am trying to put spanish subitles.

I downloaded the spanish subtitles srt file from subtitles.org

I have been trying to use mkvmerge GUI whic seems a pretty straight forward, I just add the subtitles track and then Start Muxing into a new mkv file with a different name, I do not get any warnings or error messages, the program finishes doing it work.

But when I play the movie, the spanish subtitles do not appear.

Please I would kindly ask for any help

Best Regards

Patricio

What media player are you using?

Do you have directvobsub installed? If you do, just right click the icon and it should display a list of subtitles

You might have to rename the .srt file to the same name as the movie file before including in the .mkv file

Poisondeathray, I tried Windows Media Player and VLC Media player, neither showed the spanish subtitles.

Followed your advice, renamed thr .srt file and installed directvobsub. With VLC Media player I finnally could see the subtitles after the right click thing.

Funny thing is that after installing directvobsub I could no longer play the mkv file with Windows Media Plater.

Thanks for your help.
