First time with this strange issue on this GX 330 player/ recorder.

Have recorded TV shows in the past. No issues.

Signal input set up is cable input.

Attempted to time- record a TV show last night and when the recorder came on this message "Signal not record-able" --or some such thing) came across the screen.

Thought it was the DVD and used a different brand: manual recording, same message, another brand DVD then again, same message

Had DVD time set to HSP and or SP for a 60 minute show. Thus enough time was allowed on the DVD

The recorder seems to go through the motions of recording but the DVD's remained blank.

It finalizes as manually directed after 'recording' (and even formats the DVD prior to recording after inserting the DVD) as required.

At the end of the day: DVD is blank.

But something about the 'signal' being unrecordable is baffling.

I can monitor the TV via the GX 330 so the TV signal is good and viewable.

What setting am I missing here?

I had not adjusted anything to my knowledge since it worked fine in the past.

Thoughts?

Also, the info about the Non recorded TV show did show on the GX 330 information screen so some aspect of the signal is getting though.

As mentioned input set up is via 'cable in'.

Apparently SONY tells me HD signals will not record. It was my bad as i attempted to record from an HD channel. I should have set channel to its analog sister.

For any HD consideration, Do not purchase a Sony RDR GX 330, as it only records analog signals.
