Hi Guys:

I'm new to here and also new to the DVD Recorder field. I recently want to buy a DVD HDD recorder for my parents. I have being offered with a used LRH-880 with a reasonable price. However, I wonder if it is possible to upgrade LRH-880 to a bigger harddrive like the LRH-780 model. I have been searching on google and all people were talking about is the LRH-780.

Or is there any recommended DVD / HDD recorder that is HDD upgradeable? My parents watch a lot of TV, so it will be nice that I can buy them a recorder that can be upgrade to a bigger HDD.

Any advices are appreciated. smile.gif

Typically, you can't change the HDD size. You also often can't even change the HDD without using/having a maintainance disk.

I see. But is the LRH-880 similar to the LRH-780? Was hoping if anyone has done this or not.

I have tried Google. Found no relative information. Mostly about LRH780.

Thanks for the advice. Appreciated. smile.gif

Here's a couple of posts by video5dude (this one and a follow-up) who says he replaced his lg-780 HDD with no problem, so special remote, etc. Maybe he's still around? If not, sounds like a piece of cake!?

OOPS! just noticed you were asking about the 880. Sorry, just more on the 780.
