Tried to encode a avi and mov file to flash with a registered version of ffmpegX as I've done many times with ver 0.0.9x and using FLV Duration to install the metadata.
Installed Ver 0.0.9y along with flvtool 2, dropped file into source window chose flv from the drop down menu went to the video menu clicked on "best" in the bitrate calculator window and got the following message
AppleScript Error
The variable _iframeflag is not defined (-2753)
Any thoughts

i've recieved the same message, while trying to convert a file using the xvid ffmpeg avi option.

running OS 10.4.9 intel machine. file was an mkv container with h264 video stream, at 23.98 fps, that ran just fine through the last build of ffmpegx but won't run now. seems like the "best" tab is non-operational under the xvid ffmpeg setting no matter what the source input...

any ideas on this error yet? it's like tying an arm behind your back, in terms of functionality lost to the application.

Ahoy,
...Just installed .09y.
Same problem here!!!
I'm not very well versed technically, give me a hand here.
What is a "variable_iframeflag"?.
Even if nobody has a fix, if someone tell me what this error means perhaps I can figure it out from there.
I have not been able to install the flvtool 2 - don't know why ...yet, but don't think this is related.
I'm getting the error only on formats with the (ffmpeg) suffix!
In spite of the error warning, I have been able to encode by manually setting the Bitrate rather than relying on the Best option.
But this still needs to be fixed.
I'm running OS 10.4.11 on a well preserved eMac Power PC G4 with an anoying cathode ray tube monitor.

Having the same issue here running on a G4 PowerBook @ OS X 10.5.2.

None of the buttons work in the bitrate calculator, all return the iframeflag not defined error.

Same problem here. I'm running ffmpegX 0.0.9y on my MacBook Pro with Mac OS X 10.5.1. I get this error message whenever I try to encode a DVD rip using the ffmpeg instead of the mencoder engine. Thing is, I want to encode some videos for my PS3. And it seems that the PS3, even with its new ability to play DivX/XviD movies now since the last system upgrade in December 07, is only able to play videos encoded with the ffmpeg engine; mencoder videos don't work at all.

Otherwise, this is a kick-ass app. Thanks, major.

and thats pretty much the exact reason i rolled back versions and went with the previous build that worked. i don't need the FLV support, so if the newer version of the app is not going to allow some features that i rely on, why even bother using it? hopefully it gets ironed out sometime in the near future.

I've been a registered user of this application for over 3 years and can recall when any issues with ffmpegX were addressed in a timely manner.
I've had to roll back to 0.0.9x because of this AppleScript Error

I'm having the problem too- same error when I hit BEST in the audio tab for determining bit rate. If I change it manually, its fine, though.

Aw, man, I read through the thread, and found my own post at the bottom. I guess I already read this. No solution yet, though!!!!
