here's my dilemma
I have a couple old tapes from an old camcorder that I want to copy to DVD.
I accomplished this with a DVD recorder by plugging in the S-video cord and the white & red plugs.
I want to remove the current Audio on this DVD, and I'd like to have a music background on the DVD.
Here's my question...
I have Windows Vista...is there a program where I can create a new DVD from this DVD, eliminating the current audio, and replace it with some music?
I wish I could just plug this old camcorder into my new computer, but I tried that, and it doesn't seem to find the camcorder.
These are two old tapes we made, that are copies of old home 8mm movies from the 50's. Very valuable, but we picked up background sound of the 8mm projector running in the background. I just want to get rid of that audio and replace it with music.

Yes, there is a lot of software which can do such things. Even a lot of freeware, but it depends on your skills which is the best solution...
In principle the following has to be done:
1. Demultiplex the current DVD to elementary streams (typical freeware program: pgcdemux)
2. Get your music in the correct format: 48kHz ac3 or mp2 or pcm (typical freeware program: besweet/aften)
3. Reauthor (typical freeware program: dvdauthor or muxman + GUI)

Thanks for the help, but I don't mind paying for some software, if it will be a little more simple, and work with Vista. Any ideas?

The really easy way. Connect your camcorder S-Video to your DVD recorder but don't connect the red and white plugs. Find your suitable music and connect the output of whatever you are using to play it back into the red and white plugs on the DVD recorder. Hit record on the recorder and play on the camcorder and whatever you are playing the music on.

Well there's a variety of tools and ways of doing this but for easy and fast try Uleads Video Studio. You can remove the current track and add whatever you want, music, narration etc. It has a free 30 day trial so if you get it done in 30 days you're golden.
