Nero Vision not finishing

I'm trying to burn AVI files to DVD in Nero vision in Nero 7 (also tryed trial verson of 8 ).
It get's about half way through converting the file then just closes and takes me back tot the menu where you decide what type of format you want (Audio, Video, Data ect). I tryed removing 7 and trying the new Nero 8, same problem, so I removed that and reinstalled Nero 7, this didn't fix the problem. I've Email Nero and am waiting for a responce, if one come's and fixes the problem I'll let you all know, and if it doesn't fix the problem I'll let you guys know as well just in case some one has the same ideas that Nero do, like I said, no error messages, nothings written to the DVD.

What is your source video? Nero doesn't support all avis or it could be corrupt, I would just try convert to DVD with something else like DVD Flick, FAVC or ConvertXtoDVD and see if it works better.

Are they free ware? it's in Xvid, it's done it to two different files, woun't there be an error message.? I'll trye copying something I know works tonight.
