We won't need cd/dvd/hd/blue ray discs if this works out. The article says it's 18 months from commercial production.

It's a great idea but I wonder just how affordable will it be at least in the early stages?

I saw a SSD type product in an article a few months back but it was suggested that because of the cost it was aimed at the military

I doubt a USB attached device would really work that good. I think a new interface would be in order

1/10th the cost of flash memory eg £5.00 per gb
means £25 per 50gb. And this stuff is refillable, like a body shop shampoo!

even if it were 1$ per gig and thats about 1/10 of a 10 dollar 1 gig flas drive. that would still be 1000 dollars for a 1TB flash drive. not to many geeks gonna shell that out.. but smaller sizes will be all over i bet.

This is a good step in the right direction.

IMO, those solutions gonna turn mainstream when we gonna have 1 Terra on one SIM-like size thing at the cost of 10 Euros. Probably in a half decade or a little bit more.
