Hi all,
I am just getting into all of this video filtering malarkey and just trying to get to know all the terms and methods.
I have a question about noise reduction, is there ever too much noise reduction that can be applied? And what are the consequences of that?
I have a video capture from VHS to which I applied a noise filter with the setting cranked right up, which does improve the quality a lot but I'm thinking surely there is a downside to this.
Cheers

Absolutely, the more you crank it up the more real deatils you remove. This produces a plastic or softening effect.
