Hello
I been trying to figure out how to capture a mpg file from pc to a vhs tape.

Basically I have several vob files created from a minidvd camera.
I merged and edited the vob files into one large mpg file.
The file total size is 4.8 gigs

The reason I'm wanting to transfer this over to a vhs tape is because the relative I'm sending the tape to only has a vcr.

I have a happauge pvr250.
I've done vhs to dvd before no issue, but I'm wanting the reverse.

So basically I'm trying to find out to capture mpg file to vhs tape without buying any additional hardware.

2 ways:

  • If your video card (not the pvr250) has TV out, hook it up to the VCR, play the mpg full screen on your computer, and record it in a VCR.
  • Author the mpg as Video DVD. Hook your DVD player up to the VCR, Play the DVD in the DVD player, record it on tape on the VCR.

This would normally be done through the display card to composite + audio off the sound card.

What display card do you have?

Another way is to burn a DVD and record off a DVD player.
