Has anyone been able to use the LG GSA-5169D for video capturing on Linux?

Hello,
Although I'm not familiar with your specific device, Capturing support in Linux is a very limited field, The Hauppage WinTV cards with Conexxant MPEG Hardware encoding chips seem to be the only cards with wide support, there have been other cards and devices (Plextor M402U) that had support but have lost it in newer kernel updates. Do you know what chip your device uses?

Hi!

This is all I know:

It's an external usb DVD burner with built in video capture (a/v-in connectors on the back). It uses the computers main processor for encoding. Linux does recognize the prescence of an external sound input device.
