I'm new in capturing. im using WinDV, DVio and other apps but I always dropped frames. I already tweak and improve my system. The weird thing is I don't only dropped just one or two frames but 64 frames, nd another 64 frames for the next droped. I already follow the instructions about capturing dv. But nothing happens. Its the same as the first time i try.
OS- WinXP SP2
Memory- 768 MB
HDD- 20 GB and 40 GB
Snazio 1394 firewire Link
can someone help me out...

Are you capturing to the same drive as the OS? Do you have two physically separate drives or a single drive partitioned into two? Are your hard drives SATA or PATA? What motherboard do you have? Are all of your hardware drivers and firmwares up to date?
All of these things can contribute to dropped frames, as well as a bad cable and bad ports on either the cam or the computer.
From your description it sounds to me like another process is taking control every so often and whatever it's doing lasts the same length of time as it takes to capture 64 frames. I would watch your CPU usage while you capture and see if you can identify a process that runs while you are dropping frames.
