Hey,
I have an old celeron here that I didn't want to go to waste, so I decided to put XP MCE on it and hook it up to my TV...it's all honky dory...but now I want a remote for it...The official Microsoft ones are quite expensive, so I was wondering if i purchased something such as This
Would I be able to use this with the Media Center application and browse through the music etc like the official one would do?
Thanks,
Matt

Since it does not have any explicit Media Center functionality, I would stay away from that. I have seen plenty of 3rd party remotes that even say they work for it, but end up needing their own software which inferior to MCE. You can go to a local Best Buy and buy the MCE remote for about $40 though.

Media center wants a faster CPU* and the devices that work with it are limited to the ones on the MCE certified list. If you want to jury rig, see the MCE (Google) forum sites where their hobby is to see what legeacy equipment can be made to work.
* Just like non-MCE PVR's, you will find hardware encoding capture devices are needed for older slower CPUs.
