Anyone have any ideas how to fix a DVD-RAM UDF disc that was write-protected on a PC using InCD? The computer froze up while the disc was writing and I had to switch it off abruptly, so now the disc is "corrupted". The properties box now has "write protect" checked but the box is grayed out so it can't be unchecked. I have tried to erase and format the disc with various apps, but I always get an error message saying it's write protected. I also tried using WPTool to remove the write protect. Sometimes it says it disabled it, but it really hasn't. Other times it reports an error. I don't care about the data on the disc, I just want to be able to use it again. Any other tools for removing write protect that I can try? The drive is a Samsung SH-S162L if it matters.

Man, after 3 days not even the UK guys (where DVD-RAM is used a lot) have any answers. I have never used this format as the discs are expensive and I have no need for it. I do have a drive that supports it. Write protection is normally done by some kind of switch. Could there be some kind of switch on the disc that got moved by the PC to "write protect" and now it needs to be moved again? Your disc may be hopelessly corrupted though and you may just have to buy a new one. Don't discount that. I had a CD-RW disc that became useless after maybe 20-30 uses.
