Philips DVDR 75 firmware update?

Hi everybody,

The Philips website no longer has the download available for the
firmware for the DVDR 75 in the USA. I would like to try to find this and try it
in our recorder, before we resort to throwing out our machine.

We have never tried any firmware in it before, but lately we are having problems.

Does anyone please have a link or somewhere where I can
download/obtain this? Thanks very much for any help you can give.

Would this be the latest update?

I don't know if that old Philips link he gave will still be usable though.

I went to your link and clicked on "software" on the left, but the file name says "UK". Does that matter? I couldn't find a file that says USA.

I did find the following list, but it's confusing:

Our USA machine is just called DVDR 75

If you Hover over the DVDR75/17 link it shows that it was sold in the USA. To be safe you might need to contact Philips Support to make sure.

Thanks for your help! I actually phoned them earlier today and the guy said they don't have a firmware download for the USA machine on their site.

I'll call them again tomorrow to double check.

I'm worrying about that "UK" on the file name, regarding regions and PAL vs NTSC etc.
