i was just wondering if i could put both of these movies on the one dvd and keep original menus

They are difficult movies to put both onto a single layer DVD disc. Even a dual layer DVD would be hard pressed to contain both.

The 2nd film in particular is a tough encode because it is long and has all that ultra fast motion. I could barely fit it on one single layer DVD disc without compression issues.

Better to put each on a separate DVD disc.

BTW the first film is one of the best films of the decade. The second film sucks donkey balls.

I haven't heard anything about a remake.

The 1st movie is so damn good that it is a damn shame that the 2nd movie turned out as shitty as it did.

Anyways I think you will really be disappointed if you try to put both onto one DVD Video disc. That 2nd movie is just too long and that high motion effect (like the infamous beach scene from SAVING PRIVATE RYAN) is used so much throughout the movie that it makes it a bitch to encode. That movie just sucks up the bitrate. Even my own carefully created CCE back-up of the 2nd film has some noticeable compression artifacts at times and I put it on one DVD Video disc with one audio track.
