First of all, your script is the best thing ever. So thanks for creating it. I've got a question.

I used MP3Gain on all my mp3 files and set them to 95db. Is it possible, since the script includes MP3Gain, to set the volume of my avi files to the same volume, i.e. 95 db?

Soopafresh, thanks for your script. It is really great. I was looking for a tool like this for years.
Is there anyway to create the output as xVid instead of Divx.?

I think I have a beta version of the script that will do that. Check back in a day and I'll post the download info.

Here you go. No promises. It seems to work OK.

Hi!

I am having trouble running this software. I am wondering if someone could help me.

I am putting the video files in the same directory as avi_gain_v07 and running AVI_GAIN_Regular.BAT (also tried AVI_GAIN_LOSSLESS.BAT). They appear to be running correctly as they create *temporary files* and appear to be performing some computations, but when I go to the 'completed' directory, there is nothing in there. Does anyone have an idea of what is happening?

Thanks,

~Lukis

Soopafresh :

I don't have a good audio system, so I can't make the following test that I wish to ask you :

If I apply a MP3 audio gain, and thereafter use the BOOST switch of besweet what should be the result ?

I mean, Using a MP3 already with a dB gain and transcoding it to AC3 DVD compliant format using Boost

can I mix both ? MP3 Gain and Boost when transcoding to AC3, or is not recommended ?

And also, what should be the results when I apply a MP3 Gain and thereafter the Upmix functions of yours ?

It will vary from file to file. Some things will sound good, others won't.

Let your ears decide

My upmix function already runs MP3gain on the file.

So, test your favorite combination of things. I've added some things to my upmix function to try to avoid distortion, but because it is automatic it doesn't work every single time. But it's pretty good at making a louder 5.1 AC3 file from your 2 channel MP3
