I just checked out upgrade pricing. It looks like they went up, and they don't have a "Vegas+DVD to Vegas+DVD" specific low-cost upgrade. You can still upgrade from any Vegas+DVD version, but it is now under the category "Vegas+DVD from Vegas" which is ($234.95).
The Movie Studio version is now more robust. They finally added 5.1 AC-3 encoding and HDV support. What is missing from this new Movie Studio version?

I don't know about Tranzport, but I'm pretty sure ATRAC is what Sony uses on their portable music players. Not sure if they came up with it, but I believe they're the biggest supporters of it.

not sure exactly - but number of tracks , nesting , render farm rendering will all be not there or reduction in number -- prob. much the same as before..
but - Movie Studio version is a really good buy considering what it DOES have and more than enough for most

It looks like both Premiere Pro 2 and upper Vegas 7 are positioning for the SDI uncompressed market while beefing up premium versions of Elements and Movie Studio for consumer DV/HDV. Prosumer HDV straddles the two.
I'm going to wait on Premiere Pro 2 and/or Vegas 7 until I build my new core2 machine. In the meantime I'd like to check out the $59 version of MainConcept MPEG Elements (for Premiere Elements 2) on the old hardware. I haven't seen a review on that yet.

Vegas has network renderfarm rendering (to really speed things up) and very good quality output .... yes it is slow on a single cpu somewhat ... but if you ever saw a renderman render , or combustion, or digital fusion or shake .. vegas seems speedy by comparision ...

Hello there!
Can anyone please tell me if Vegas 7 allows for change or deletion of audio track in a video clip? I used to select audio in Vegas 6 and then delete it to replace with another audio file or simply to edit it. I tried to delete audio only, but the whole clip is deleted instead. Pls help.
Tks

Just highlight the audio part of the clip and hit the delete key. If MPeg, wait for it to process first.

Hi, edDV!
Tks for yr reply!
Unfortunately, this highlughting works only for Vegas 6, but not for Vegas 7. When I highlight audio and press delete the whole clip (video + audio) goes off...
tks
