Just wondering if anyone has some info to share? Considering this player to replace my phillips 642.

I tried DV-490 which is exactly as DV-393 (the extra is HDMI connection). Other than the zoom feature which is not good: won't remove 2 black bars on TV screen and picture is distorted this is an excellent dvd player. Deliver great picture and sound. Recommended if you don't use zoom frequently.
