TiVO on the Archos

I'm ripping and playing movies well with Handbrake (and a combo of MacTheRipper and Popcorn 2, which is an endless process), but when I try to record off of TiVO, for some reason, the video input from the TiVO plays through the Archos jerky. Not just when I record it and play it back, but even when previewing it on the Archos screen. The same thing happens when I try to record directly off of my DVD player.

Equipment: Archos AV700, DirecTV HD TiVO, LG DVD/VHS recorder-player.

Thanks for any help anyone out there can give.
