Why not get a laptop computer, bigger screen, plays anything you put in it, including divx.

I wished I have waited, I bought a NextTech 7" portable DVD player for 100$ at Circuit City last February. It's a good unit but can't play Divx movies. However, it plays MP3, WMA music, JPEG photos as photo show, can be connected to TV as well.
Does this new one play MP3, WMA ?
Portable DVD players are much more convenient to carry around and on any trip (vacation, business), they can be put inside your luggage and are NOT treated like laptops. If you carry laptops thru airport, you know what I mean. Of course, laptops have many advantages in video/audio apps: upload photos, video clips to it to free up the flash memory of your camera, etc...

I'd be shocked if it didn't play MP3s and would expect WMA.

I agreed, it's so easy to support MP3 and/or WMA with a simple firmware upgrade (MP3 decoded to WAV). However, most car CD players (the old generation) cannot play MP3. And there is no firmware upgrade whatsoever. If you want it, you got to buy a new CD player that support MP3/WMA. Isn't that weird ? The same thing goes with set top DVD players.

The customer reviews say it plays MP3 but don't mention WMA.
