Hi Phil, I got one of these players from Aldi. Its pretty good but could be improved with a firmware update.

I've just created a yahoo group for Medion/MSI Megaview PMP users which is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/megaview-medion-pmp/

Theres also a wiki about this player and it includes links to articles, forums etc: http://wikihost.org/wikis/msi588pmp/

It would be great to get as many users of these players together, the more the merrier when it comes to getting a possible firmware update.

Hi

My mate has one, he bought his from Aldi to, I just can't figure out why they are so cheap, I had a Marantz that I paid $700 for, that was so picky with the DVDs that it played, it wasn't funny, even some brand new DVDs it wouldn't play, don't get me wrong, when it played movies, great picture & sound, but his MEDION plays bloody pretty much everything.

This player does not play DVDs though. It can record to an internal HDD. Its basically an iPod with a larger screen and video recording.
