  1. In After Effects, I have a 23.976 Project with my MP3 synched.

I export my project pulled down to 29.97 ... then I import both into AVID, still synched.

Next, I re-export my After Effects project to 23.976 (instead of 29.97 pulled down) and I import that into my AVID 23.976 Project. When I import my audio, it's not synched.

    Why is this?

Depends on the degree out of sync. If it's .1%, then that's the difference between 23.976 and 24 fps (also the difference between 29.97 and 30 fps). If so, export at 24 fps.

One would also compensate for this difference by changing the sample rate (not by resampling, but by changing the headers) between 44100Hz <--> 44056Hz (also between 48000Hz <--> 47952Hz). Also known as "Pull-down". (betcha didn't know there was ANOTHER type of pulldown!)
Beware, this could have already been done wrong, in which case one might need to compensate the other way ("Pull-up": 44100Hz <--> 44144 and 48000Hz <--> 48048Hz).

If it's more, like say 20%, it's because video pulldown isn't doing something correctly (either on export execution, or on import interpretation).

Let's hope it has nothing to do with PAL vs. NTSC...

  5. Well, the audio was imported in a 30i project in AVID and exported as a wav (I have music and such mixed with my VO) and imported into my 23.976, the Audio is too fast for the video. If I decrease the speed to synch (I think its like 1.0247 or something) then the it sync's fine, but then the audio runs too long WEIRD. So if I export my AE project with Audio at 47.952, then it sounds perfect. WTF?

Okay, lets say I export my Audio from AVID 30i ... I have SoundTrack Pro and what would I do to pull the audio down to 23.976?
