This is a brief guide on Uleadvideostudio 9 .

How to add , modify video , transition's for video .

Launch Ulead Videostudio 9... please note this guide is intended for version 9 , and there are no guarantee's that this will work for earlier version's .

Having Ulead video studio 9 up and running , in the picture below , right click in the area that "VO1" clip is , and choose "Insert Video" .

Here I have my clip loaded , it's an mpeg ...

Drag this clip down to here .

Now click here

Now let's do some triming's .. here I will remove part of the clip I dont need .

Using this tool

Drag it to the right till the first frame of the next video clip you wish to split is shown .

If you need to move forward or backwards by frame , click here

Then simply click either up to go forward 1 frame at a time , or down to go back 1 frame at a time .

Once the frame is located (this is the first frame of the next part) , hit

This cut's the video now into 2 .

Now on the timeline , click on the second part , as the clip is now in two piece's .

Now repeat the previously mention step's and locate the "first frame" of the next clip , then hit
that scissor icon again .

You now have something like this

Should you be removing "ADD'S" , say in this example the middle one is a commercial .

Right click on the second video clip (our commercial) , and choose "delete" .

----------------------------------------------------------------

Repeat these step's to breakup the clip , or for those removing commercial's from content .

----------------------------------------------------------------

Now for filter's :

Now you see this

These little square's are where you drag you effect's to ...

I have choosen "Face" and now add it to each of those little effect's box's .
Again , it's drag and drop .

You can use a mixture if you want ...

So here it is now .

Now if done ... hit this

Here we have some option's , and I have chosen

Now I have chosen

Ok , these option's need adjustment

Hit "options"

It's 4:3 , so it dont get changed .

Just tricking the setting's for my need's for ifoedit later .

Hit "ok" , and start , wait till done .

---------------------------------------------------------

There are of course many other option's available , and it is in your
best interest to tinker with ... it is the only way you will get to know
the product well .

---------------------------------------------------------

To those using previous version's and complaining about "accuracy" .

Ulead video studio 7 require's 2 updated dll's in run correctly under Winxp + Sp2 , this problem is "saving of video split's" ... without those updated dll's , it will save the entire video clip ... not what you asked for .

Ulead video studio 8 require's a large update , available from ulead's site
to fix effect's problem's .

Ulead video studio 9 is almost perfect .

Have yet to get it on it's knee's ...
-------------------------------------------------------

I prefer to use freeware when ever possible , as it is available online from many source's , and user's get a good introduction into the video scene without costing them ... apart from their isp charge's .

PS : I picked up Ulead Videostudio 9 in ebay for $35.00 + $15.00 for p/h .
Local recommended retail is over $200.00 au (harvey norman) .

Final note : If you really want to know why I have this program , its because it dose frame rate conversions better than any other tool .

For $35 buck's , if your into framerate conversion's , you'd be mad not to have it as part of your kit .
