Well, I bought my Lite-On LVD-2001 player when it first came out and I loved it. Recently it's starting to give me problems with non commercial discs (i.e. Divx, Xvid, etc.). I'm thinking about replacing it. Can someone give me some suggestions? I'm basically looking for a DVD player that can play Divx/Xvid, 1080i, and is region free.

miamiloco,

You might take a look at the OPPO OPDV971H.

Thanks for the suggestion mikel, but from one review, I read that

"The only misgiving is the lack of a progressive scan output via its component video outputs, however, progressive scan is fully supported by the DVI output. "

That's a big problem, since my tv doesn't have a DVI input sad.gif Any other suggestions??

The Oppo is a great player.

Also, it does support progressive scan on the component outputs. It doesn't support upconverting on the component outputs.

So I can't see a dvd at 1080i using a component connection, correct? I would have to connect it using the DVI connection.
