Hi,

I am streaming from a PC to a Dreambox (multimedia reciever) and this method not support select subtitles.
So I want to backup my DVD with permanent subtitles (like in SVCD/VCD) or put as default in the DVD subtitles on.

Preferable method is without encoding as encode take about 3 hours.

Many thanks in advance.

Pgcedit & a couple of other prog I think can edit the ifo files to set subs on by default. It's also possible to force them, meaning you can't turn them off. I think there are links to guides on how to do this on the Pgcedit site, & reading the guides mentioned in the stickies is never a bad idea.

RE: hard (permanent) subs -- they're actually part of the video frame, like flattening layers in P/Shop, and if you don't want to re-encode....
