I recorded a DVD+RW DVD using Magnavox MRV660 DVD recorder. As per manual there is no need to "Finalize" the DVD+RW. Then I tried playing on MagnavoxMDV458/17 DVD Player. But am getting "Invalid Disc" error on the DVD player. This DVD player is supposed to play DVD+RW media as well. Can anyone suggest a solution why this DVD is not playing

Possibly because it is not finalized. There may be no need to finalize the disc for use in the recorder, but most standalone players cannot read discs that are not finalized.

Thanks for responding. Recorder doesn't provide a Finalize option at all for a +RW DVD. I tried to do some "Edit" and then did a "Compatible" option provided by the recorder. Even then the +RW didn't play in MDV458/17 DVD player. Then I tried playing the DVD in another DVD player (Sony,LG) at a shop, and it works fine. So seems to be an issue with DVD Player. But DVD player is supposed to play +RW DVDs as well. Is there a way to update/upgrade the DVD player? How will the compatability issue can be eliminated between the same companies(Magnavox) DVD Recorder and player. Really appreciate help.

There isn't a fix. It could be as simple as the player doesn't support +RW or it could just be picky about the brand of the media. If you are sure the player supports +RW, then try a few different brands of media to find one that works.

You could also try looking up your player in the DVD Players section and see what types of media others have reported as working/not working.

If you don't get a menu, its not Finalized. Have you tried putting the video on your computer & seeing if it plays?
