    AVI,MPG,DivX,XviD,MP3,AC3 video and audio formats
Just use Goldwave and open the video/audio and then save as WAV.

    RM,RMVB,RAM,WMV,ASF,MOV,MKV,OGM,AC3,DTS,FLAC,etc video and audio formats
Download MPlayer-mingw32-1.0pre7.zip and extract it to a folder.
Download windows-all-20050412.zip and extract all codec files to the Mplayer folder.

Open a windows command prompt from the Start menu->Accessories->Command Prompt and type

    "C:\Program Files\Mplayer\MPlayer.exe" -vo null -ao pcm:file=output.wav "D:\xvid.avi"

replace C:\Program Files\MPlayer to the location of Mplayer.exe
replace D:\xvid.avi to the location of the video or audio file

The output.wav will be located in the C:\Documents and Settings\Your Windows username folder.

    Tips:
If you have downloaded streaming ram,asf files that you can't convert. Open the ram,asf file with notepad and you will see a line like rtsp://media.real.com/showcase/service/samples/28realaudio8.rm, copy it and use it as source like
    "C:\Program Files\Mplayer\MPlayer.exe" -vo null -ao pcm:file=output.wav "rtsp://media.real.com/showcase/service/samples/28realaudio8.rm"

    Example:

    Convert:
WMV to WAV, ASF to WAV, RM to WAV, RAM to WAV, RMVB to WAV, MPG to WAV, AVI to WAV, DivX to WAV, XviD to WAV, OGM to WAV, MKV to WAV, MOV to WAV

hmmmm... would this work for an "SAT" file, incase you are unaware of it, the SAT file is an encryption that's placed on any audio file that gets transfered into the Toshiba Gigabyte. I can't for the life of me find out how to convert it back when I transfer it back to my hard drive. I'm not unable to put any of that music on my hard drive or burn it onto a CD.

    Thanx.

You can decode to a six channel wav, then split.

Check the folders in the above links and you should be able to find newer versions.
