On the Elite Video website there is link about the Bvp4 restoring 3rd generation tapes, but the link is dead. Is this device really able to do that? I have some 2nd and 3rd generation tapes that were recorded in the late 80's
that I want to clean up and transfer to dvd. I have a jvc s-vhs vcr with Digipure Technology and a panasonic dvd-r. Is it worth buying the BVP4? Will it help the color on these tapes?

YES YES YES!!!! This device is made for just the type of video you have. Bought one on ebay 2.5 months ago and it does a great job. You definitely have to play with the setting to get it right though. Also, if you get one, make sure you start off with the default setting mode, then start your tweak from there.

Absolutely. It's very powerful.
A lesser proc amp, but also excellent, is the SignVideo one.
Older Vidicraft is good too.
