Sony DVP-NS300 Tracking Problem with DVD+RW media (RICOH)

I have been experiencing playback/tracking problems on my Sony (DVP-NS300) set-top player with the Sony-branded RICOHJPNW11 DVD+RW media burned on my Pioneer DVR-108 burner.

When I insert the media in the set-top player I hear constant "tracking" sounds (the same sound you hear when you change tracks with the remote) and the picture and audio pause every once in a while with frequent momentary audio dropouts. Occasionally it gets to a spot that I can’t read at all…it tries for a while and usually ends up skipping to the beginning of the chapter. For those of you that are familiar with this player, it’s the exact same behavior when playing badly scratched rental discs. FWIW, playing back my Fuji (TY) DVD+R media is flawless. The problem is only with +RW.

Some have suggested that I try another brand of media and switch to DVD-RW, while others have suggested that I get a new player. I really don’t want to replace the player just yet, since it works fine in every respect so far, with the exception of the above mentioned +RW media.

Could someone recommend some DVD-RW (or even another brand of +RW) media that might be more compatible with this player?

Thanks in advance.
