BNC connector question?

I have a monitor that has 5 BNC connections, I know what the R-G-B is but I don't know what the H and V connections are used for. Thanks for your responses.

Horizontal, and Vertical perhaps???

Horizontal, and Vertical Sync.
These are essentially the same signals that are in the VGA connector.
