OK, we recorded the Bon Jovi concert from last week off HDTV on the DVR box. I want to get the concert off the DVR and onto SVHS tape. Currently, the best I can get is 4x3 image with letterboxing. What I want is an anamorphic image. Any suggestions?

Hello,
I don't believe analog tape can support anamorphic images.
You're best bet would be to get a capture card and a dvd burner on your pc and then find a way to transfer the High Def image that way. Though High Def cards are pricey and require a lot of power.
Sorry.

Nonsence! Hook a VCR to your DVD player, tell it you have a 16x9 TV connected and see the anamorphic image on your VHS tape. Furthermore, you can buy VCRs with anamorphic output (for 16x9 TVs).
I have a capture card, but what makes you think the image will be any different on the PC vs on tape? It's the output of the DVR box that is putting that letterboxing in there.
What I want is to force the DVR box to output that anamorphic image so I can capture it. It it goes on tape that way, then it will go in the PC that way. I am not expecting to get an HDTV quality image, only a 16x9 480 line (anamorphic) image.
