HELL YEAH!!!

I recently got my first taste of HD material and I was just BLOWN AWAY!!! Once you get a tatse of HD you will never turn back. Take a visit to the Microsoft Media website and download and watch the HiDef WMV material. WONDERFUL STUFF!!!!

Also on the DVICO website they have downloadable samples of Over-The-Air (OTA) capture of HiDef TV transmission. Truly home theatre at its best. Like watching at a movie theatre.

BRING IT ON!!!!

Yes, this subject has a bright future, expecially for us in Europe with the PVR recievers & the PCI DVB cards. I could moderate a forum about it and I could write (when I have time) guides and articles about it. After all, I'm doing this things 3 years now...

I can handle the DVB part (Europe), all flavors (DVB -s/t/c), but we also need someone from USA to handle the DSS/HDTV part of this subject (different technology / needs).

Just to point out that we need from the beginning to inform (if the forum seperation is not possible) about the differences about those 2 different systems.

I know I am going to get flamed for this but the dvb part. What does that stand for. I am aware of high-defenition tv. Just have never heard of dvb.

Yes, I just purchased WinTV-PVR-USB 2.0 and hope to record straight off the cable feed. I was having some problems with my Go Video DVD Recorder and it would be was easier to just skip a step and go directly to the hard drive. I am in the U.S.A so I would be interested in it. So far I don't have HDTV but would be interested in learning more about it.

I'd like to see a DVB forum. I have not found a very good forum yet. From what I understand Dish and ExpressVu transmit in DVB, only most channels are encrypted, but a few may not be, and the cards can get C, and Ku band channels also (if your dish is big enough) and there are FTA (free to air channels). Cards cost as little as $100. You would have to probably make two sub forms, one for Europe and one for North America.

It also might bring in new people.

I want to learn more about DVB, especially FTA. A DVB forum would be most welcome here.

I have to admit that this poll is a bit disapointing...
Some interest, many not, most are confused about it and only few can support it for real.

I'm 60 yes / 40 no about this after those results.

Of course, the final choice belongs to Baldrick.

A Newbie DVB article... I need a couple of weeks about it, maybe less.
I'm a working man, so you know how that it goes. But yeah, why not.
Okey, let's go for it, after all we need a new subject so to not hang out on the off topic forum all the time... You know, the nest of the flamewars...

There's a fledgling forum for the Hauppauge DEC2000-t at

http://www.decforum.com/

but it is limited to the DEC unit & it is below critical mass.

...and not a bad choice for moderator for that specific forum, either, if you were looking for one.
