DV AVI to MPEG-2 Sharpness

Hi,

I captured my DV footage using ULEAD Video Studio and encoded the avi file to MPEG-2 using Cinema Craft SP with CBR 8000. Even at a bitrate of 8000, I see that the sharpness of the original is lost. I kept the quality settings on CCE to Natural with the basic filters set up. I thought it might be the filter, therefore, i deselected the filters, and I noticed a little improvement, but not much. I have cheked out the guides, and tried the settings which are used in the guides. Maybe someone has their own settings used in CCE which seem to work fine for them. Any help is appreciated.
