My Canon ZR70 has been screeching when I rewind and fast forward lately. Anyone know the cause of this, if it is harmful to the camera or tapes, and how to fix it?
Thanks

do the 'tape turning wheels' (for a lack of a better word) have bearings? Either way, you're best bet is to let it make a trip to the nearest factory repair facility. Something like that may seize and give you MORE trouble than waiting two months for the factory to return it.
BTW...what is it screaching?......"BUY A JVC>>>ACKKKK>>>BUY A JVC>>>ACKKK"

I have no idea if they have bearings. I have figured out when it does do the screeching - when it gets warm. It gets warm enough after I play a 60 min tape, but if I leave it off for a while afterward I can turn it back on and rewind the tape with no problem, so I dunno. I may go to someplace and ask some one at least...
Thanks
