Since DJ told me he was getting confused, I've added some comments to my initial post. I hope now everything is clear.

DJ: I tried to reply to you PM, but I think the PM was not sent.

You need NANDUB (for video) & BESWEET (for audio).

You have to extract & convert the video and audio seperately.

VIDEO & AUDIO extractions

In NANDUB, open avi, goto file > sav wav.

Now goto audio tab, select NO audio, goto video tab, select framerate, and change to 23.976FPS, then Save avi.

video and audio is now seperate, but audio is still 25fps, so:

Audio FPS conversion

In BESWEET, load up all settings, besweet.exe, ect, ect......
Now Load ur WAV file which u extracted with nandub, on the left select the "Change FPS from 25000 > 23976 or use one of the presets, hit 2Lame tab on right, and select wot output mode u desire (Dual channel (surround sound) or Stereo, and chooose bitrate also, 224 is good usually. Click Besweet tab, Select MP2 as output, now click 'wav to mp2' on right side, and ur audio conversion starts.

Now u have ur video and audio both at 23.976, load the mp2 file into windows media player to check the audio has been converted, it might be a second or two out compared to the video time (23.976FPS), dont worry about that if its just a few seconds, anymore than 10 seconds u might have a out-of-sync issue, but its usually ok if u change framerate wav > mp2, framerate change for AC3 is not recommended, it just doesnt work!

Now all u have to do is add ur 'VIDEO only' to ur favourite mpeg2 (DVD) encoder, and convert. After u convert to mpeg2, u must use a program called PULLDOWN to change the fps to 29.970 NTSC standard, but before using PULLDOWN, please rename the.mpv file created by ur DVD encoder to .mv2, so PULLDOWN recognises it!

Once this is done, use ur favourite DVD author prog, input ur video which was created by pulldown (movie_pd.avi) and ur 'AUDIO MP2' which u created with Besweet, and that will mux the 2 files together into the VOBS, BUPS & IFO's needed to create a standard DVD.

Once ur folder is created, use ur fav. dvd burning application to create a DVD Video, Nero is recommended.

Good Luck!

/DJ.

P.S. i learnt all this by searching the forums and creating my own system to convert, all information even regarding troubleshooting is available at this excellent site.

Whenever I use this guide, I try using AC3Machine, and when I set it all up and hit "Give me AC3" it quickly shows a DOS window, which then disappears before I can see whats in the window.

It doesnt give me a file, so anyone any idea what Im doing wrong???

Oh yeah, and this is probably a spacker question, but when everyone says to rename the mpv file as a .m2v, how do you do this? I tried doing it by right clicking and selecting rename - but when I do this Pulldown still doesnt recognise it
